Overview Wadi Glass
Wadi Glass Containers are manufacturers of specialty and standard container glass bottles and jars, reflecting customer needs, particularly small and medium enterprises. Wadi Glass came to reality after studies showed that glass bottles and jars manufactured in Egypt were not meeting quality standards and had a high breakage rate. Moreover, there was no special focus on the meeting smaller capacity requirements.
Hence in 2005, Wadi Holdings, the mother company of Wadi Glass, partnered with Samih Sawiris (15%), Hwa Hsia Glass Company in Taiwan (12%) and Jochenlee Molds & Machine MFG in Singapore (3%) to establish Wadi Glass Containers in Egypt . The factory furnace was lit in January 2007 and production started by the end of that same month. The plant is located on 8300 m2 of land in Sadat City.
Since then, Wadi Glass fulfills orders not only to the local Egyptian market but to other markets as well. To date, 60% of its total production goes to Italy, Greece, Lebanon, Syria and Libya.
